How do we Graphically Facilitate?

Large sheets of paper are stuck to the wall or boards. This provides a blank canvas for any event, meeting, seminar, workshop etc. Chunky felt tip pens and vibrant pastels are used to capture the content of the discussion, presentation, or debate.

Graphic Facilitation pens The key words and images portray the content whilst the use of arrows provides movement and direction of travel to the record. Colour theory and shape are used to capture the emotion and energy of the session.

The skill of graphic recording should not be underestimated. It is complex as you are doing several things at once.

The Graphic recorder is:

  • Listening to and remembering what is being said
  • Recalling and representing on paper the key points made a few moments ago
  • Choosing which images to use and what words to include
  • Deciding how to organise the information on the page

All of this is happening at the same time, in a similar way to simultaneous translation, there is a constant flow of information coming in which needs to lodge in the brain for a slight delay, before it is ‘interpreted’ onto paper.

What our customers say about our graphic facilitation services

I have used the Graphics to communicate with Service users because most of those i work with cannot read or write.
