Why is facilitation needed?

Working/managing in an environment of constant change brings with it tensions that even the most positive manager can struggle with. Teams can become difficult to work with, conflict can emerge, staff become disillusioned and disgruntled, particularly if they are not clear about the future direction of the business.

New Possibilities FacilitationThe need to motivate teams and provide the support needed to lead change within an organisation can be daunting. As a leader you need to have confidence and self belief in the change that is being implemented.

Introducing an independent facilitator to; lead team/group meetings, initiate discussion around proposed strategies, generate ownership and 'buy in' to new initiatives can be time saving, cost effective, motivating, and maximize on the productivity of the event.

Why use New Possibilities?

New Possibilities’ area of expertise lies in; listening to different perspectives, hearing where the tension lies and helping the group to unpick the issues that need to be addressed.

New Possibilities is skilled in creating a safe environment where people feel able to share their experiences, express individual opinion and make a shift in attitude.

New Possibilities provide a clear structure and focus through the process of an event whilst putting participants in control of the direction and content.

New Possibilities’ independence as a company means that:

  • There is no suspected hidden agenda or vested interest
  • There is no historical 'baggage'
  • There are no preconceived ideas about what is possible
  • There is a distance created from the day to day relationships within a group brought about by the impartiality of facilitators.

What our customers say about our facilitation services

London Borough of Sutton commissioned New Possibilities to help develop an in-house Person Centred Planning training programme intended to develop the skills of experienced facilitators and promote person centred approaches throughout learning disability services. This has proven invaluable. The confidence of facilitators has grown and front line staff have since been able to help lead the drive for person centred approaches in our area. We have now run a number of in house courses which have always received good evaluation; this has been in large part due to the time and expertise that New Possibilities contributed.
