Local Government is increasingly required to engage with local communities in council policy and decision making.
By consulting with people local government are able to ensure that decisions made are the right ones. Consultation puts local people at the heart of the decision making process.
However finding new and innovative ways to engage and consult with people can be challenging. Often people who have engaged in a consultation exercise can become even more frustrated when they do not receive any feedback in terms of how their contributions have affected the final decision making process.
New Possibilities has years of experience of consulting with groups of people and local communities.
New Possibilities particular area of expertise lies in working with individuals or groups who are in conflict or dispute with the local authority or service provider.
New Possibilities is an independent company with no vested interest in the desired outcomes other than to listen carefully, and accurately represent different perspectives and understanding in order to reach a principled conclusion.
New Possibilities will close the consultation loop by providing; the people who contributed to the consultation, a copy of a report that presents the findings of the consultation along with recommendations to assist the decision making process.
